BENEFITS OF RED MEAT
Who else agrees with me that red meat is sweet?
Especially the fatty sides, although there's growing evidence linking red meat consumption with increased risk of death from cancer and cardiovascular disease. But, before we go into that, do you know red meat has a lot of vitamins which are good for the body?
Here are some benefits of red meat:
1. Red meat is rich in several essential minerals : especially iron, phosphorus,
selenium, and zinc
2. Eat more red meat to help prevent iron deficiency anemia
3. Red meat are high in B vitamins which help promote health. Vitamin B12 is
particularly important since it isn’t present in plant-based foods
4. Protein is essential for optimal health, and especially so as we age, beef
provides an abundant amount of this macro-nutrient.
5. Red meat is very affordable
Types of red meat: beef, lamb, goat, horse & pork
ADIVSE FROM ME TO YOU
1. In as much as the benefits of red meat are juicy, we must always remember
that we should always opt for lean meat

2. Always stick with the recommended daily allowance of cooked lean meat
which is about 28kg per day
3. Limit your intake of processed meat The WHO includes hot dogs, ham,
sausages, corned beef, beef jerky, and canned meat among its examples of
processed meats. When meat is processed by curing and/or smoking,
carcinogenic compounds called N-nitroso compounds (NOCs) are formed,
Stern says. "NOCs are present whether you buy nitrate-cured meat or
natural meat cured with celery extract, which also contributes nitrates
involved in the formation of NOCs."Because NOCs are carcinogenic, meat
producers haven't ignored the concern surrounding processed meat.
